LET'S EXPLORE A LITTLE THOUGHT EXPERIMENT
by TerryWalstrom inover here on the left we have a governing body which is inspired directly by jehovah to receive his instructions for how to worship and interpret the bible accurately.. on the other hand, on the right we have a governing body which isn't inspired nor directed by jehovah, but which is making the best guesses they can make as mere humans as to proper worship and bible interpretation.. here is our thought experiment.. what differences would we see or would have seen in the last 100 years of jw teaching in each instance, .
and how would they differ?.

If the GB was inspired by God, the generation that saw/understood what 1914 meant, would not be dead. -

What type of religion condones the type of rationale to deceive people and if you don't follow them they just up and throw you away?????
The Watchtower Religion.
Don't ever date a Jehovah Witness again. It will bring nothing but trouble and regret.

How dishonest was the Apostle Paul?
by opusdei1972 inmay be some of you will be shocked by this question.
however, when i was studying the bible with critical eyes i detected that paul ( or saul of tarsus) misquoted the hebrew bible in order to get false support for his arguments.
of course, this tricky kind of use of the "scriptures" was not only used by him, but others, like the author of the gospel of matthew got unsupported doctrines misquoting verses.

Paul was not telling the Corinthians that it went against biological norms for men to wear long hair, but that it went against Roman convention
Caleb, what exactly did Paul mean when he said;
(1 Timothy 2:12) . . .I do not permit a woman to teach,. . .
The Watchtower uses this scripture to prevent women from giving talks, being an MS or Elders.Women in the WT are only good for going out in service and making cookies.

Why hasn’t someone gotten real pissed off yet?
by John Aquila ini keep reading of some guy who is so upset at someone that he goes into a theater and shoots 20 people..
or a kid that is so mad that the other kids made fun of him that he goes to school and shoots a bunch of kids..
or some guy that was fired from his job and he goes back and shoots of bunch of his workers.

Maybe the ones who are unhinged enough to so something like that are actually the same ones who feel compelled to stay loyal.
I think you hit the nail smack on!

Breaking news: US mass shooting
by Simon init's getting to the point where cnn should start announcing "breaking news" if there *hasn't* been a mass shooting !.
it's crazy.. i was watching the 70's documentary they are running and that's the point when media hype about mass serial killers seemed to begin the danger-gun-solution hype cycle.
sure, people had guns before then but nowhere near like it is now.. when will it end?

As you know, hundreds of years ago in England, a black swan was a popular symbol for the impossible because no such creature had ever been seen, until black swans were discovered in Australia. The bird now symbolizes, that which seems impossible “But can in fact occur” I like the way one article puts it, “The black swan reminds us that believing something cannot happen is often just a failure of imagination."
There have been a lot of close calls that the general population is not aware of. In order to have zero probability that a nuclear war of some sorts will not happen and affect several countries, including our own, the formula would have to be;
Zero Nuclear weapons = 0 probability of a nuclear bomb being detonated in our country.
But that’s not the case, is it?
Same with guns.

Understand probability theory, and you will understand why you are wrong. More guns = greater probability they will be used, and misused, regardless of the majority of ownership being of those who are non-violent and responsible
If that’s the case, then we got something more important than guns to worry about.
According to a new report from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), nine nations — the United States, Russia, United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea — possess approximately 16,300 nuclear weapons. in total.Jun 17, 2014
More Nuclear Weapons = Greater probability they will be used sooner or later. -

Thanks Caleb, and you are right, many Catholics are very unaware of what the Catechism teaches of the blessings of Heaven to be brought to the earth. I am going to use this to prove to Jw that the Catholics always taught this since they, the (JWs) believe their idea is original. -

Even if it's true that the Organization is using its members as an alternative energy source----It's still the Truth.
